1. What does Heapost mean?
Heapost is pronounced epost as for electronic post. Indeed, Heapost, as one of its main advantage and service, sends you immediately at least one copy of each of your mail electronically.
Heapost also refers to the endless amount of unattended mail (a heap of mail) left in the various accommodations like backpacker hostels, for example.
However, according to your imagination, this acronym or abbreviation could possibly mean happily ever after or honest expert advice. Whatever it means to you, Heapost is your unique partner that gives you peace of mind, saving you time and money and improving the management of your mail, safely.
2. What is the difference between mailing/postal and residential address?
A postal address is a place other than your usual place of residence where you have your mail delivered. That’s what Heapost offers you!
A residential address is your permanent home or usual place of residence.
3. What is a mixed (physical and digital) postal service?
Unlike traditional postal services, which are only physical, Heapost allows you to be immediately informed wherever you are in Australia or overseas, at any time and without having to go to the post office, your mailbox, or Po Box thanks to its digital service.
Heapost collects your mail, opens it (without reading), scans it and sends it to you immediately by email before shredding and recycling it if it does not need to be physically sent to you. That’s for the digital aspect of the service.
In addition, Heapost sends you all your physical documents via registered envelopes after having previously ascertained your current address or the address of the nearest post office if you still live in your car for example. That’s for the physical aspect of the service.
4. How much mail will I receive?
This is a question that cannot be answered with a precise and reasonable answer because it depends on everyone.
However, according to our experience, Backpackers and Students do not receive much mail per year compared to Permanent Residents and Australian Citizens. By contrast, and this is very important to underline it, all these mails are important! That’s why Heapost exists, because you don’t want to lose any of them or leave them available to malicious people that could potentially open it and get access to your personal and baking data.
5. Why is Heapost not a walk-in postal service?
Heapost was mainly created to give you the possibility to always be informed about the nature of your mail without having to go to the post office, your mailbox, or Po Box.
In other words, it’s Heapost that follows you wherever you are and not the other way around.
It would therefore be illogical to make Heapost a walk-in postal service like the traditional post office where it is restrictive to go when most of you travel across the country or overseas, change house regularly due to the housing crisis or work FIFO with specific schedules.
6. Am I allowed to pick up my mail at the postal office?
Although Heapost is not a walk-in postal service, all Non-Stop (Specific Visas & Other Visas) formula customers living in Perth (WA) and surrounding areas will be allowed to pick up their physical document, free of charge, for a period of 7 days from the day of delivery. After this courtesy period, customers will still be allowed to pick up their physical document but at a cost of $9.99 (Inc. GST). Otherwise, your physical document will be sent to you at your Shipment Costs’ choice.
7. How does Heapost operate?
Heapost will be collecting and treating your mail daily from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
As Heapost is a non-walk-in post office, opening and closing times are flexible.

8. How much does it cost?
From a little bit more than $1 or $2/week* (Inc. GST) for the Non-Stop formula (excluding shipping costs) or as little as $33.33/mail* (Inc. GST) for the One-Shot formula (including express shipping costs up to 500g).

9. What is the difference between the formula Non-Stop and One-Shot?
The Non-Stop (Specific Visas & Other Visas) formula is the complete annual postal service (excluding shipping costs) through a subscription system with once-a-year payment. During this year-long subscription, you get unlimited mail processing.
For Non-Stop (Specific Visas) Students & Backpackers, better known as Temporary Residents (Visa subclass 408, 417, 462, 485 and 500) this formula starts at a little bit more than $1/week, which is $59.99/year (Inc. GST)!
For Non-Stop (Other Visas) Temporary Residents, Permanent Residents and Australian Citizens, this formula starts at a little bit more than $2/week, which is $119.99/year (Inc. GST)!
The One-Shot (All Visas) formula is the complete postal service (including express shipping costs up to 500g) through a system of purchasing credits to be used as you wish, as your mail arrives in our mailbox.
This formula is offered on a sliding scale price depending on the number of mails purchased.
1 mail = $39.99 (Inc. GST) / 2 mails = $69.99 (Inc. GST) / 3 mails = $99.99 (Inc. GST)
10. What happens if my visa status changes during the Non-Stop formula?
Heapost will maintain the same service fee during this visa transition, and until the end of the year of the formula subscription.
For example, passing from Visa subclass 485 to Permanent Residency.
11. Is Heapost only collecting and delivering mail or package as well?
At first, Heapost will only collect and deliver mail. And the main reason is that it is not financially interesting for you to use the postal address of Heapost in Perth (WA) for package if you are for example currently living in Cairns (QLD) as you will have to pay twice Shipment Costs (once from the Seller to Heapost and then from Heapost to You).
However, this package service can be definitely offered for customers living in Perth (WA) and surrounding areas.
